Tinian chamber supports military contracting training

THE Tinian Chamber of Commerce, since its revitalization earlier this year, has focused on training its members on the nuances of the federal contracting system, its media release stated.

Members voted on chamber priorities for 2009 and federal military contracting was the top vote getter, with the intent on preparing the organization via trainings for the massive build up in the region.

“We have to be prepared for the future contracting opportunities, anyone who is not doing the necessary steps to comply with the federal contracting requirements will be leaving a lot of business on the table for others to take advantage of,” said Tinian Chamber of Commerce vice president Don Power.

Tinian’s Sherman Consulting LLC was awarded its first U.S. military contract as “support services” for the logistics, planning and organization of the Guam/CNMI Military Contracting Opportunities Symposium, which will be held on Saipan on Nov. 17-18 at the Saipan World Resort.
